The Harlan Series was the organic outgrowth of adventure days with my young grandson, Harlan. One day about 3 months ago, he requested a trip to my studio to make a “neck-a-lace”.
Off to the studio we went, and in no time, he had his favorite box of colorful resin beads spread across the carpeted floor. Together, we selected pieces and parts from the rainbow array, whatever struck his interest. He mixed and matched and arranged and rearranged for an hour and a half until he settled on a final design. I quickly strung the necklace and, puffed up with pride, he presented his hand-made gift that afternoon to Mommy.
It was not long before I realized the value in sharing this experience with others. By assembling kits of high quality materials using my 30-plus years of color/style experience to guide the groupings, I could pass on the chance for someone of any age or ability to create a personalized, lasting piece of jewelry art. It is my sincere hope that you garner as much joy from this jewelry experience as my grandson and I did.
So I’ve developed a "forever" necklace making kit intended for kids or adults to make as a gift for a special woman in their lives -- mom, grandma, auntie, whatever. The kits are $50 each. Color options for the mostly resin bead sets are across the top of the page. They are BEAUTIFUL and fun when made - not your standard preschool version (though I love those too:)
If you are interested, let me know. What you will be doing is picking a colorway for your necklace. Included, is a pattern (altho you can create your own), a bag of beads, stringing material & instructions for how to tie the surgeon’s knot to finish your project.
Finished necklaces are $48 each.
